On May 24, 1973 President Nixon and the First
Lady hosted a dinner for almost 1,300 guests
(the largest dinner ever held at the White
House) to honor and welcome home POW's held
captive in Vietnam. Bob Hope was master of
ceremonies, John Wayne spoke and Irving
Berlin joined in  singing 'God Bless America".
They held the dinner under a tent for more
than one reason...

As a dramatic actress on television, Miss Heatherton
won wide acclaim for her appearance in
 Of Mice and Men and has scored in numerous guest star roles
in such shows as I Spy, Mr. Novak, Route 66, The Breaking Point,
 Arrest and Trial, The Nurses, Bob Hope's Chrysler Theater
and The Virginian. As a television musical variety performer,
she has made guest star appearances on The Jerry Lewis Show,
The Dean Martin Show, Bob Hope's Viet Nam Christmas Show,
Andy Williams Show, Hollywood Palace, Garry Moore Show,
Steve Lawrence Show, Sammy Davis Special, Perry Como Show,
Hullabaloo, the Mystery Guest on What's My Line?
and most recently
 as the star of the Dean Martin 1968 Summer Replacement Show.
